What happens if someone takes a second phone off-hook when the Broadcast
Host is on a call? |
! |
Broadcast Host will treat the other local voice the same as the caller.
It will attempt to keep transmit audio from returning back with the caller's audio,
but this becomes more difficult with this scenario. The local voice will certainly
sound much louder than the distant caller's voice.

How does Broadcast Host adjust itself to the phone line? |
! |
We use a proprietary dual-convergence echo canceller algorithm which continuously
compares transmit and receive audio while building a model of the phone line. The
first model is built within the first 200 milliseconds of the call. Afterwards, the
algorithm continuously adapts to the phone line for the duration of the call. This
system is not disturbed by changes such as someone taking an extension phone off-hook.
Only your audio source is used as input to the algorithm. It does not require any
noise bursts or "quiet time" to complete its mission. Bottom Line... Excellent
separation all the time.

Does Broadcast Host work with Vonage IP telephony? |
! |
Yes, however customers have reported one glitch in the Vonage system. If the Broadcast Host is set to auto-answer or if the call is manually answered on the first ring there will be a considerable amount of noise on the call. This can be avoided by initiating the call from your location or manually answering after the second ring. If auto-answer is an integral part of your application you may contact Vonage directly to downgrade to a previous version of their firmware. This information is valid as of January 23, 2006. We have no direct connection with Vonage and therefore will not know when this particular problem is resolved. |

Will your digital hybrids provide phantom power for my condenser microphone? |
! |
No, our devices will not provide phantom power. If you are connecting your microphone directly to a JK Audio digital hybrid, you should use a dynamic mic. |

When I record from the Output on my Broadcast Host, I am only getting my own voice on the recording. |
! |
While there are two mini-jacks together on the back of the Broadcast Host, only one of them is an Output. The jack that is marked “Send 2” is a second input to the Broadcast Host. This is where you can connect another device, such as a CD player, to add audio to the conversation. The jack on the right is a stereo Output, with the Send audio on the left channel and the Caller audio on the right channel of the same stereo cable. |

There is a loud hum on the output of my Broadcast Host, even when nothing else is connected. What else could it be? |
! |
Make certain you are using the regulated power supply that was shipped with the unit. Power supplies are not all the same. |

Is there a rack mount kit for the Broadcast Host? |
! |
A rackmount product is designed more rugged than a desktop product. Broadcast Host
was designed specifically for your desk or studio applications. If your application
requires rack mounting, please look at our Innkeeper 1r, 1rx, and models 2 and 4.
